Biography
Long before I ever dreamed of publishing a book, I discovered the quiet power of the written word in a high school classroom. It started as a simple journaling assignment—a requirement to put pen to paper and see what came out. What I didn’t know then was that God was equipping me with a tool, a habit, and a sanctuary that would eventually sustain me through the hardest chapter of my life.
When I was diagnosed with Stage 2b / 3a breast cancer, the world as I knew it shifted beneath my feet. In the midst of treatments, doctor appointments, and overwhelming uncertainty, I returned to the pages of my journal. This time, it wasn't an assignment; it was a lifeline.
I journaled to get out the raw feelings I was carrying—the fear, the grief, the frustration, and the questions. But more than that, those pages became the altar where I learned to lean into God deeply. In my weakest moments, I began to understand His strength truly. In my confusion, I found His understanding. And in a battle that felt so isolating, I was wrapped in His unconditional love.
Writing approach
I don’t write to escape reality; I write to meet it head-on with hope. My approach to storytelling is built on three core pillars:
Uncompromising Authenticity: Drawing from my own journey as a metastatic breast cancer fighter, I don't shy away from the hard, heavy chapters of life. I write the raw daily struggles, the "scanxiety," and the complex emotional layers of facing the unthinkable.
The Intersection of Grief and Joy: I believe that life’s most beautiful moments often sit right alongside its most painful ones. My stories capture that delicate balance—the laughter at the dinner table, the peace found by the ocean, and the stubborn determination to live fully while facing a storm.
Anchored in Faith: Every character I create and every valley I write about is viewed through the lens of grace. My books explore what it truly means to lean into God for strength, to find understanding when answers are few, and to rest in an unconditional love that never lets go.
